CORRECTION - 1/19/09
According to an e-mail I got from corporate today (see photo above), the free burrito giveaway is on Thursday the 22nd, and not Friday the 23rd. This differs from what the person at the Century III Chipotle told me on the phone, but I'd go with what corporate says and be there on Thursday. Or, when in doubt, call first!!
Burritofication In Progress!!-Pittsburgh, PA-
Can you imagine, was it only 3 years ago, that we had ZERO
Chipotles in the Pittsburgh area? If you had a craving for
Chipotle, you had to travel to Ohio or Washington D.C. just to satisfy a
jonesin' for a
naturally-raised taco or burrito (actually back then, only the carnitas was naturally-raised; see how far we've come, with all varieties of meat now raised naturally?).
First came the Robinson location, which moved into the vacant
Baja Fresh, and then about a year later came the Oakland location (which also took over a deposed
Baja Fresh).
Then there was talk about building a new location at the Foundry Shops in Washington, PA, but that plan literally fell through the cracks, as the new shopping center ended up closing due to below-ground mine
subsidence.
And then last autumn, another new location opened in the City of Pittsburgh's Bloomfield neighborhood.
Finally soon to be opened in this new year, will be the Century III location, which is having a Grand Opening on Friday, January 23rd, and like at almost all Chipotle Grand Openings, this one will have a free burrito giveaway to customers on that day.
For details on the free burrito, feel free to call the Century III location at (412)

Other location information can, of course, be found at Chipotle.com
